In the Throes of Winter

I liked the way "throes" sounded, so I put it in my title--and then looked it up to make sure I got meaning right. I was trying to describe how we are surviving being cooped up this winter and to show pictures of life as we attempt to make it through to spring. Well the definition goes this way, "a hard or painful struggle" and offers the synonyms "pang, spasms" and the example phrase of "throes of childbirth". Well I can tell you, it has not been that bad, but aren't we all anxious for a little warm sunshine on our faces? To smell the earth that's been warmed by the sun, and to get excited about gardening again? To welcome a new spring baby? :) Well we are, but we're making it through these last weeks of winter and we're doing fine. Here are some photos of how we're making it!

Whoa! That was a blogging treat, Marian! Fun to see Christmas pictures. They made me glad I was in California missing some cold midwestern days, but don't you think it's better to be with family (even though it isn't like a dayspa with kids) than alone when the Marriott men go to Sugar bowls? I cannot believe how Grant has changed. I wish I knew what his voice sounds like :(. We need to visit Utah!
